    After booking your rental car within 3 hours you can collect or get the car delivered.

  • Can I rent a car for half-day?

    No, Selfdrive's renting duration starts from a minimum of 1 day and the price starts from 11 OMR.

  • What are the hidden charges has?

    Selfdrive believes in transparency with the customers. So, Selfdrive doesn't have any hidden or booking charges.

  • Is there any age limit for renting a car?

    Yes, to rent a car a person must be 23 years and above. (Min Age may vary for High-end Premium Car Models)

    Please Note: Credit/Debit card must be in the name of the renter and if it's booked on behalf of someone, the cardholder needs to be present at the time of collecting the vehicle to sign the agreement. In case of absence, the payer's signed authorization letter must be submitted.

  • What is the process I need to complete at the counter location?

    Selfdrive has a simple and hassle-free process to rent a car. Reach the respective counter and show your Booking ID, and documents and pick up the car.

    We offer all types of cars from hatchback, sedan, SUV, 7 Seater and luxury vehicles.

  • I have booked a car under Airport rental, where can I pick up the car from?

    If you have rented a car under airport rental then you can pick up or drop the car at these locations.

  • Can I pay using cash?

    No, cash is not accepted. Selfdrive accepts only debit/credit card payments.

  • Do you rent cars with drivers?

    No, Selfdrive only rents cars. Drivers are not included.

  • Who can drive the car I rented?

    The person who is registered as a driver while renting should drive the car. If you wish to add a co-driver, you can request and submit your driver's document to add a co-driver.

  • Are there any charges for adding a co-driver?

    Yes, there is an additional driver fee. The charges depend on the duration of the car you rent.

  • What if I have issues with the car?

    For service and repair, you can request directly in the app. We give a replacement car and take your rental car for service. Additionally, if you need 24/7 roadside assistance you can request it during booking or select the 24/7 roadside assistance option in the app.

  • Should I renew my contract every month?

    The contract will be renewed automatically every month until the end of your renting period. For example, if you rent a Selfdrive car for 4 months your contract will be renewed automatically every month until you do not cancel the contract.

  • Will I be charged if I don't return the car on time?

    Selfdrive offers a maximum of 2 hours grace period for returning the car. In case exceeded, one day's rental charge will be applicable.

  • What if I return the car early?

    No, a refund is not applicable in the case of an early return.

  • As a tourist am I eligible to rent a car?

    If you own an International Driving License or a home country license with an International driver's permit, passport and visa, you are eligible to rent a car from Selfdrive.

  • How often can I switch the car?

    At the end of every subscription or rental period, you can switch your car. For example: if you rent for 1 month, after completing the duration you can switch to another car from Selfdrive.

  • How long does it take to rent a car from Selfdrive?

    The booking process merely takes less than 2-3 minutes and you can pick it up from our nearest location or get the car delivered at your doorstep within 3 hours.

  • Do you deliver cars?

    Yes, Selfdrive does deliver your rental car at your doorstep with an additional charge.

  • Can you pick up the cars from my location?

    Yes, Selfdrive has a pick-up service too with an additional charge.

  • Is there a security deposit amount?

    Security Deposit depends on the type of car you choose to rent. All premium cars have a security deposit.

  • How many days will it take to refund the security deposit?

    The security deposit is collected for future fines. The security deposit amount will be initiated within 30 working days after returning the car.

    Please Note: Banks may not send you an SMS confirming the credit of the amount you are requested to check with your card statement or call the bank call centre.

  • How do I extend / prepone / postpone my booking?

    You can contact us at +968 24 44 2615 or email us at, mentioning your booking ID and your requested pick-up date of the car. Our team will check and will respond to you.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

    Selfdrive has different cancellation policies for various circumstances.

    • 10% of the total invoice cost is applicable if the cancellation is completed before the delivery
    • No refund is applicable if the renter intends to cancel the booking after the delivery.
    • 10% of the total invoice cost is applicable if the booking is cancelled by Selfdrive due to non-compliance with proper documents.
  • What type of Insurance is available?

    All rental cars are covered with basic insurance. Basic Insurance covers all the damages that are not your fault. In unfortunate situations, to avoid excess expenses while renting, get SCDW insurance by paying an additional amount.

    Please Note: In any circumstances, a police report must be submitted.

  • What is SCDW?

    Super Collision Damage Waiver, All cars in Selfdrive are covered with basic comprehensive insurance. An insurance excess amount is applicable (depending upon the type of the car rented) in case of accident damage or if the renter is at fault. The renter can opt for Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) by paying an additional charge to avoid paying excess insurance in the unfortunate event of any known or unknown damage.

    Please Note: SCDW should be added to your rentals agreement in advance and before the rentals and cannot be amended in between the rental duration or for an extension.

  • Can I use the rental car for off-roading and events?

    Our vehicles are not allowed for Safari/ Fun drives/ Race/ Off-Roading or Advertising. The renter will be held liable to pay all the damages, necessary repairs and towing charges if they fail to adhere to the same.

  • What are the things I need to check while renting a car?

    Please refer to the following:

      Take photos/videos of all the sides of the car.

      Mention any scratch or dent you notice.

      Check the fuel gauge and take a picture for future reference.

      Please check if you have received the car's registration copy.

  • What is the fuel policy?

    The quantity of the fuel should be the same level as at the time of renting. If any customer fails to return the car with the same level of fuel, a certain amount will be charged.

  • What to do in case of an accident?

    In case of an accident or damage to the car, kindly contact the police and arrange for a police report. It is the responsibility of the renter to obtain the police report. Failing to provide the same, the renter will be responsible for the entire cost of the damage incurred.

  • Do rental cars have a Mileage Limit?

    Yes, all rental cars have a mileage limit and it depends on the duration you rent.

      Daily/weekly - 150 KM /day

      Monthly - starting from 3000 KM /month

      Airport Rental - 150 KM /day

  • Can I request additional mileage?

    Adding additional mileage is possible only on selected cars. Additional charges will be added for additional mileage.

  • Will I be charged for excess use of mileage?

    Yes, you will be charged Per KM for excess use of mileage.

  • What if the car is locked with the key inside or if the key is lost?

    In case of such circumstances, if the car is locked for some reason we will provide you with the spare key for which service charges will be included. If the customer loses the key, manufacturing cost & service charge will be collected.
